Amazing experience today at FORMBY CYCLES, the staff member who served me was very helpful & his knowledge was 1st class, no pushy sales, just a genuine chap with a heart of gold. I purchased a MTB, and look forward to collecting it next week & using FORMBY CYCLES in the future to service my bike. Thank You......the staff are a credit to the business.

I purchased a bike from Evan's Cycles a few months ago. Staff assured me it suited all of my requirements. After paying £450, rode it to Southport station and knew immediately, this isn't the bike for me, handle bars were far too low. Rang the store only to be told there was nothing they could do. This was obviously disappointing. Since purchase it had been sitting in the garage. Visited Formby Cycles on Thursday. Phil was AMAZING! Told me to bring the bike in, which I did. Phil extended the handle bars, made a few adjustments, bike is now perfect for me. Can't thank Formby Cycles enough, honest, reliable and friendly service. I know where I'll be making any future purchases, and recommend other readers do the same. Thanks Phil

The staff at Formby Cycles were superb. I can whole-heartedly recommend them. Prior to visiting Formby Cycles, I had tried six bike shops in Chester and none offered the customer service or range of bikes that I found here. I test rode several bikes on the Saturday, ordered my preferred option on the Tuesday and collected my new Lady the following Saturday. Brilliant. In addition to the bike, I bought pedals, clothing and accessories and received the same service consideration throughout.

This was the email sent in June. I was about to post this on Google Review, but thought better to send it to you. If it was my business I'd want to know. I also think people should know too before they make a trip to buy from you. Looking at the google reviews, it looks like it's been a thing before. Staff are hard work. He wasn't rude, he just couldn't be arsed. Not sure which is worse. I visited the store on Thursday 29th June. "I went in for information on getting an e-bike. Ready to spend £3/4K. While this isn't a considerable amount in the realm of e-bikes, it's still a substantial amount. I was there for 5 mins alone as there was no staff. When a member finally came down to make himself a cuppa, I had to go over. I asked the staff member about some information on a new e-bike. He huffed, puffed, and half-heartedly showed me bikes out of my price range. I pointed out a bike within my price range and explained what I wanted it for. I explained what my friends had, and he said, "You only want one because your friend has one" My response was so? I was told to go away and think about it. I've thought about it, and this is what I want. He was unwilling to size me up and again was told to go away and have a think and test ride some. I let him know I had and still was thinking I wanted this one in particular. We size you up off of what you've ridden before, I was told. Apparently I was either a small or medium - Ok, which is it?When you've decided to come back in and we'll size you up. At that point his cyclist buddy came in. He just said. Ok. Well, let me know. He fecked off over, made a coffee, and chatted with his buddies. I just stood there, quite confused about what had happened and what I witnessed, to be honest. He didn't even acknowledge me as I left as he was too busy, speaking to Rodger. Just wow. Of course, I went elsewhere and bought the same bike I'd seen on the shop floor with the same size that was also on the shop floor. I went to Winstanleys later that day, who spent over an hour with me, allowing me to test bikes and brands so that I could find the right e-bike. I've always had decent service from Formby Cycles when it comes to services etc., on bikes, but this could have been better." I got an email back to say sorry, Ill look into it, what day was it and nothing back. I followed up - with no feedback no? Poor service. Winstanlys were amazing to deal with.
